Global Open Taekwon-Do Championships 2026

The 6th Global Open Taekwon-Do Championships is being held in Caroline Springs, Victoria (Australia) on Saturday 11th April 2026

Celebrate the Birthday of Taekwon-Do with us on the auspicious date.

The weekend program will include the Championships, Taekwon-Do Birthday Social Function and a Masterclass (Sunday)

The Global Open Taekwondo Championships will feature 12 events :

Para / Special Needs Forms (Patterns) – all styles
Self Defense (Pairs) – all styles
Self Defense (Multiple Attackers) – all styles
Special techniques – all styles
Weapons Demonstration (Individual) – all styles

Registration Deadlines

Early Bird Registration to 31st January (20% off)
General Registration to 28th February
Late Registration to 31st March (+10%)
Last Minute Registration to 6th April – $30 surcharge

Note, weight/rank information can be modified closer to event, after registration, if required.

Note : TEAM EVENTS – all members of the team MUST register for than event on their form.

Officials / Umpires

All participating non-hosting organization‘s clubs MUST provide at least 1 Competent Official who will be available, to Judge and/or Referee, where required.

All hosting organization Black Belts are expected to be available for officiating where required, to ensure a smooth, fair and efficient competition.

SELF DEFENSE (OPEN)
All Taekwondo styles will be combined

- Self Defense Demonstration (PAIR - 1vs1)
BOTH PERSONS MUST REGISTER AND PAY. Both Persons MUST demonstrate a minimum of 5 Self Defense techniques each, as the Attacker and as the Defender.

- Self Defense Demonstration (Multiple Attackers)
ONLY DEFENDER NEEDS TO REGISTER AND PAY. MUST be minimum 3 attackers, Defender MUST demonstrate a minimum of 3 Self Defense techniques against each attacker. Medals are Awarded to the DEFENDER only in this event. Non Bladed wepaons and other props may be used.
SPECIAL TECHNIQUE - OPEN
All Taekwondo Styles will be combined. Winner will be the maximum height reached with target contact required (ball of foot).

WEAPONS DEMONSTRATION ROUTINE (solo) - OPEN
All Taekwondo Styles will be combined. Weapons demonstrated as an INDIVIDUAL choreographed routine (max 2 mins)- only non-bladed weapons will be permitted. Nunchuku must be foam covered and have rope, not chain.

- I, the undersigned, in consideration of, and as a condition of acceptance of my entry in the tournament hosted by United ITF Taekwon-Do Australia Inc., for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators hereby waive all and any claims, right or cause of action which I or they may otherwise have, for or arising out of loss of life or injury , damage or loss of any description whatsoever, which I might suffer or sustain in the course of, or consequent upon my entry and participation in the said tournament.
