The first ever International Seminar conducted for 4th Degree's and above was conducted by ITF President and Grandmaster, Choi Jung Hwa 9th Degree, in London, UK from June 12-14th. Australia was represented by our Chief Instructor, Master Michael Muleta, 7th Degree The seminar was a historic occasion, and the first of it's kind, with over 76 International Instructors attending, including 16 ITF Masters from over a dozen countries. The 2009 series of Master Michael Muleta's Masterclasses have commenced throughout Australia. Over 600 people attended Masterclasses during 2008, and attendance so far in 2009 has been great with over 400 people already attending. The next Masterclasses will be held in Melton, Vic (Sat 15th August), Canberra, ACT (Sun 16th Aug), Braybrook, Vic (Sun 20th Sept) All students and instructors from all clubs are welcome. It is with a heavy heart that we learn today (Thursday 28th May) of the sad passing of Colette Corthorne (nee Deurle), a member of our Bundaberg, Qld Taekwon-Do family. As many knew, Colette suffered the past year with cancer, and battled valiently to the end, demonstrating incredible courage, inspiration and true indomitable spirit testing for her 1st gup, whilst in the midst of chemotherapy. Those who knew Colette would testify to her spirited character and dedication to Taekwondo, and kind hearted nature. Our deepest condolences and prayers go our to our Black Belt brother and staunchly loyal supporter, Trevor Corthorne, who was a mountain of support for Colette in her final days. May Colette Rest In Peace Sincerely, Michael Muleta on behalf of all Througbred Taekwon-Do members. |
